Location (St Ives Bay, Cornwall)
St Ives bay is renowned for its surfing and windsurfing and is well patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season. The beach is ideal for playing in the waves, large enough to find solitude and perfect for barbeques as the sun goes down. John Miller painted most of his famous paintings of the view from his home on the Hayle river along the beach towards Godrevy and when you see the photo below you can understand why. Virginia Woolf was equally inspired, writing To The Lighthouse after a visit to Godrevy Island.
Godrevy Lighthouse and Gwithian Beach
For those keen to explore the many clifftop paths and secluded coves then this area has much to offer. Gwithian truly is a place where you can get away from it all.
The suites are situated in the centre of Gwithian village surrounded by a gorgeous old church, a restored Methodist chapel, picturesque cottages and plenty of fields. Within easy walking distance is a popular pub, the Red River Inn and three beach cafes all selling reasonably priced meals. The beach is just a few minutes walk away and seems to be where most of our guests spend a lot of their time. Just a few miles inland is the town of Hayle which offers a good choice of pubs and places to eat and a few miles further lies the popular harbour town of St Ives with its countless cafes, bars and restaurants.
